# Viewing Meter Readings

View meter readings for a site by tapping the :MeterReadIcon: **Meter Readings** option in the Site menu.

- Filter the readings list by water account, outlet, and date range.

> ℹ️ **Note**
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ - If the water account you have selected is a Single Farming Unit (SFU or SWAA) with child accounts then you will see readings for all those accounts.
> ℹ️ - Any SFU accounts will appear at the top of the accounts list.

- Use the Add Reading button at the bottom right of the page to create a new reading.

# Entering a Meter Reading

> ℹ️ **Permissions**
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ You must have the METER READER role for an area or site to enter meter readings.

Add a meter reading for a site by tapping the **Enter Meter Reading** icon on the Site Details screen.

> ℹ️ **Note**
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ On a small screen you will find this option by tapping the **More** icon

NetworkConnect will show the estimated reading based on any order data available.

- When metered usage is significantly different from estimated usage, or if it exceeds the allocation for the authorisation, a warning is displayed but you can still enter the reading by tapping **Save** again.
- The entry precision is set in the *Meter Reading Decimal Places* attribute for the site in DMS or SCADAConnect. You must enter a value with at least this level of precision before it can be saved.

# Add remote meter readings

If a meter can be read remotely, the :remRead: Remote Reading icon will be available in the Meter Reading field. Click the icon to fetch the reading.

## How do I enter a Meter Reading at a Shared Outlet

If the outlet is shared, you must also specify the water account that the reading is for.

# What happens if the reading is an estimate?

If the reading is an estimate you will be prompted to enter a reason for entering an estimate and the reading will be referred to a Planner. Choose an appropriate reason from the drop-down list provided or choose *Other*. You can also leave a note with the reading.

# What happens if the reading is out of range?

If the reading is outside the expected range (as configured for your network) you will be prompted to enter a reason and the reading will be referred to a Planner for review and the reading status will be set to *Variance Exceeded *and will appear on the planner’s Referred Readings list. You won’t be able to enter new readings for the site until the planner has reviewed the reading.

# What happens if there is a pending referred reading for the site?

If there is a pending referred reading for the site you will not be able to enter a new reading until the planner has reviewed the referred reading.

# What happens if the reading is for a site that does not deliver orders?

In some cases you may need to enter meter readings at a site that does not deliver orders. In this case there is no expected range for the reading and therefore there is no check for variance.

> ℹ️ **Example**
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ The site may be a diversion or a pipeline
