> ℹ️ Referred readings are readings where one of the following applies:
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ - There is a significant discrepancy between the metered usage and the estimated usage.
> ℹ️ - The reading is lower than the previous reading.
> ℹ️ - The reading has been marked as an estimate only.
> ℹ️ - The reading is at a shared outlet but no water account has been specified for the reading and no reason was provided.
> ℹ️ - The usage exceeds the user's allocation. These readings will have the reason ALLOCATION EXCEEDED.
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ Planners will receive a message whenever a reading is entered in CustomerConnect and referred to a planner.

> ℹ️ **Note**
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ Referrals can be disabled for SiteConnect, NetworkConnect, and MeterConnect. Contact Rubicon Support for more information.

- Estimated usage is based on order data and is calculated by determining how much flow has been delivered to an outlet since the last meter reading and up to the effective date of the new meter reading.
- Metered usage is calculated as the difference between the latest reading and the previous reading.
