# View Segment Details
To view the segment details, choose :segDetails: **Details** from the Segment menu to open the Segment Details screen.

# View Chain and Order Details
The Orders tab displays a list of orders included in a segment. Unlinked orders have a white background with an :unlinked: **Unlinked** icon at the left. Linked orders have a coloured background with a :linked: **Linked** icon on the first order in a chain and :linkedOrder: **Link** icons for following orders.
## View the Details of an Order
- Hover over an order row to enable editing the order details.
- Tap on a row to view the extended order details.

# Searching and Filtering
## Searching for Orders
You can search for orders by
- Outlet name
- Operator first name, last name or preferred name
- Order number
Click the :searchIcon: **Search** icon in the Plan Details or Segment Details menu bar to open the search field.
If you are in the Plan Details screen, entering a search term will also filter the Unscheduled Orders list. The Segment panels will show the number of matching orders in the segment. Open the segment details screen to show the matching orders (or click the :expandIcon: **Expand** icon at the bottom of the segment section if you are displaying the segments vertically).
## Filtering Scheduled Orders
Filters that apply to scheduled orders are available in the :filterIcon: **Filters** popup in the Plan Details or Segment Details screens. Scheduled orders will be filtered and you can open the segment details to see the results of the filtering. The options are:
#### **Time Filters**
- **Order confirmation expiring within next X minutes** - this shows orders with a pending confirmation deadline (you can enter a value for X but it defaults to 15 minutes)
- **Order starting within** - this shows orders with a start time in the specified period.
- **Order finishing within** - this shows orders with a finish time in the specified period.
#### Order Status Filters
Select any order statuses to filter for orders with those statuses.
# Modify Segments and Orders

> ℹ️ The options available will depend on the status of the plan and the orders.

> ℹ️ If the plan has been *Published* and there is a more recent plan for the same area/group you cannot make any changes to the plan.
## Edit Segment Details or Delete a Segment
- Edit the segment name or flow rate by choosing :Edit: **Edit** from the Segment Details screen.
- Delete a segment by choosing :deleteSegment: **Delete** from the segment menu or on the segment details screen. When you delete a segment, all the orders in a segment are returned to the Unscheduled Orders list.

> ℹ️ You can’t delete a segment that contains orders if the plan is (or has ever been) published.
## Modifying Orders and Chains in a Segment
### Linking and Unlinking orders in a Segment
- **Linking orders and reorganising the segment** - Drag and drop orders and order chains in a segment and drop them onto other orders or chains to create a new link and to reorganise the orders and chains in a segment.

> ℹ️ if you want to reorganise the orders within a chain you must unlink the orders first and then recreate the chain.
- **Unlinking orders in a chain** - click the :unlinked: **Unlink** icon at the right of the order row to unlink an order from a chain. The order will stay in the same relative postion in the segment but the chain may be split in two.
### Removing orders from a Segment
Remove a pending order from a segment by choosing *Unschedule* from the order menu. The order will be removed from the segment and will be added back into the **Unscheduled Orders** list with its original requested start date/time.
### Modifying or Cancelling Orders
You can modify the order start time, finish time or flow rate with certain constraints. Hover over the order to display the :Edit: **Edit** icon for these fields. Note that for published plans you can only make these changes in the Planning screens.

> ℹ️ As well as any constraints included below, the system will also check your changes for any conflicts with other orders at the outlet and for conflicts with Maintenance Periods. It will also check to make sure that the irrigator has enough allocation remaining if the order volume has changed.

> ℹ️ If you are modifying an order that is operating or pending within 30 minutes you’ll be warned if your changes conflict with presets applied for the plan.
- You can modify the **start date/time** provided that the order has not yet started and the new start time is in the future.
- You can modify the **finish date/time** provided that the order has not yet finished and the new finish time is in the future.
- You can modify the **flow rates** provided the order has not yet started.
- You can cancel an order by choosing **Cancel** from the Order menu provided it is in the latest plan.
### Using the Shift-Link option
If you edit the timing of an order in a linked chain you can control whether the following orders are also shifted. When you modify the finish time of an order the Shift Linked toggle will appear.
- If shift-linking is enabled (the default) then any following linked orders will also be moved.
- If shift-linking is not enabled then the following orders will not change and, if the earlier order was moved forward, there will be a gap between orders. The number of hours in the gap is displayed on the Orders list.
### What happens if my changes affect other orders?
Changing the sequence of orders or modifying orders may cause changes to the schedule for linked orders. If those changes move an order out of the plan date range, or conflict with the time/date range already notified for an order you’ll be alerted in the Segment Details screen.
- Conflicting scheduled start and shifted hours will be highlighted in red
- A warning note will be displayed to let you know if the order is now outside the plan range or the notification window.

> ℹ️ You must have configured the **order tolerance** attributes that control the time window notified to the irrigator in order to use this feature. ### What happens if my changes mean that the segment is over-capacity?
If you make a change to the orders in a segment such that the segment maximum flow rate is exceeded (that it, it is over-capacity), a warning is displayed on the Segment Details screen and on the relevant orders in the segment panel in the Plan Details screen.
If you open the Segment Details panel, any orders that are causing the flow rate to be exceeded will also have this icon in their Flow column.

> ℹ️ You will not be able to publish your plan while a segment is over-capacity.
### Confirming and Unconfirming Orders
Normally the irrigator will confirm their order but they don’t confirm their order by the confirmation deadline the planner will receive a notification. The notification will include a link to the order details and the irrigator’s contact details.

> ℹ️ This notification uses the **Order Not Confirmed Planner Alert **comm type. You do not need to subscribe to this notification. Updates will be by SMS (for the Planner on duty) and by push notification (for all Planners for the area or group).
- You can confirm any confirmable orders from the Orders menu in the Segment Details screen.
> ℹ️ For example, an irrigator may ask you to confirm an order if they have missed their confiirmation deadline.
- You can unconfirm orders from the Segment Details screen or from the [Order Details](https://rubiconwater.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/NCTS/pages/2515109155) screen.

> ℹ️ If there is more than one order to confirm for the same outlet, you’ll have the option of confirming all the orders at once or confirming one order at a time.
