# Publish the Plan

Publishing a plan sets the status of the plan to *Published* and the status of orders that have been scheduled in a segment in the plan to *Estimated* and makes the orders confirmable by the irrigators. 

Any unscheduled orders will remain as unscheduled and will be available for future plans.

Click the :applyChanges: **Apply Changes** button at the top right of the Plan screen when you want to publish the plan. You’ll be prompted to confirm that you want to go ahead and you will have the option to apply changes only to estimated orders or to publish the whole plan.

You will have the option to notifiy irrigators if the plan is published. If you accept the option to notify irrigators, they will then receive a [notification](https://rubiconwater.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/NC/pages/3033333970) prompting them to confirm their orders in CustomerConnect.

You can also configure auto-confirmation in which case the orders will automatically be confirmed when the plan is published. > ℹ️ The option to notify irrigators is only available the first time that the plan is published. This is so that irrigators don’t get multiple copies of notifications whenever the plan is updated.


## What if there are over-capacity regulators?

You can check for over-capacity regulators before publishing the plan by filtering the Demand Curve. See [https://rubiconwater.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/NC/pages/3052470294](https://rubiconwater.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/NC/pages/3052470294) for more details.

By default you can’t publish a plan that includes over-capacity regulators. You can change this behaviour by setting the **Plan Finalise if Over Capacity** parameter to *Yes*. In this case you’ll still receive a warning listing the over-capacity regulators but you’ll be able to go ahead and publish the plan anyway.

## What happens if there are overlapping orders in the plan?

You can’t publish a plan if there are overlapping orders on the same shared resource (that it, that share a source regulator). If you try to publish a plan with overlapping orders you’ll be alerted and a list of the overlapping orders will be displayed.

## What happens if I want to make changes to carried-over orders in a plan?

A draft plan may also contain *Estimated* orders that were carried over from an earlier plan. You may want to make changes to estimated orders in your draft plan without publishing the whole plan. Use the **Updates** button to review and accept changes, and use the :applyChanges: **Apply Changes** button to save any changes. You can make these changes without re-publishing the plan. ## What happens if an order is not confirmed?

Normally the irrigator will confirm their order but they don’t confirm their order by the confirmation deadline the planner will receive a notification using the **Order Not Confirmed Planner Alert ** Updates will be by SMS (for the Planner on duty) and by push notification (for all Planners for the area or group). The push notification will include a link to the Order Details where you can confirm the order yourself if necessary.

# Tracking Plan Notifications

When a plan is published, confirmation notifications are sent to irrigator to advise them of their order window and to prompt them to confirm their orders. You can view the notifications that have been sent for a published plan on the Plan Notifications screen.

To open the Plan Notifications screen, choose :planActivity: Activity from the Plan menu. Click on any item in the notifications list to open the detailed view.
